National Conference for College Women Student Leaders

(NCCWSL)

2024 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

The AAUW-RF (American Association of University Women-River Falls) Branch is inviting River
Falls area college women to apply for a scholarship to attend NCCWSL (National Conference for
College Women Student Leaders) from May 30-June 1, 2024.  This year’s premier leadership
conference will be held in Washington D.C..  Emphasis will be on leadership, professionalism,
activism, women’s issues, and identity and diversity. The scholarships include payment of
registration fees (including room and board) and travel.

All University of Wisconsin-River Falls sophomore and junior students and area students
enrolled at Chippewa Valley Technical College are encouraged to complete the application
form. (www.riverfalls-wi.aauw.net).  Applications are due by March 1, 2024,  and should be
submitted to Karla Thoennes, scholarship chair, at kthoennes2366@gmail.com. Go to the bottom of this page to download the NCCWSL application.

I absolutely loved… sessions on finance acumen, STEM experiences, racial justice,
leadership, supporting other women, never being afraid to speak your truth and not to
be afraid to use your “rage” to fight for what is right.

It was very engaging and exciting. In each session I loved how detailed and actionable
the content and the stories were…it made the conference much more inspiring”
Fellow attendees made a networking sheet and a chat room where we could all connect
with each other after the conference.

It showed how confidence is a skill and it takes practice and the mindset of owning it.

I’m so appreciative that you all gave me this opportunity. I will take what I have learned
to be an advocate for those who need it so we achieve equality for all.
